Unique Weddings: How to Create a Musical Theme Wedding and Reception

***Posted by original author on my rant site due to Ghostbloggers.net site defaulting on payments for four previously sold articles.

Every bride wants the wedding and reception that people are talking about for years to come. It should be unique and memorable yet still capturing the essence of the happy couple. For couples with strong musical interests it has never been easier to create a one of a kind invitations, related cards, and reception that will not break the bank. Between dresses, flowers and catering, your budget is bound to be feeling the strain, so décor is an obvious choice for making the most of the budget you have to spend.

For brides and planners alike used bookstores are a brilliant place to start. They provide a wealth of items to use as décor, from old sheet music, to used records, albums, CDs, even old songbooks and hymnals. Pick a genre and get ready to shop. Local dollar marts are great sources to pick up inexpensive silk flowers and candles to accentuate the musical décor as well.

Print off custom designed wedding invitations and save the date cards designed to look like concert tickets. RSVP cards can be set up the same way with a blank for the guests to write in how many will be attending. Use old sheet music; fold it in half for use as 6” x 4.5” cards with the music on the outside and the wedding and reception details inside as invitations.

Create small faux concert posters as table markers and create faux concert tickets as placeholders for the guests at each table. Choose a specific musical theme per table or for the entire reception. This will make the settings unique and serve as keepsakes of the wedding for those who wish to retain them as mementos of your special day.

Old vinyl albums, 45s, and CDs make great centerpiece arrangements with a few candles or silk flowers added. Use albums for arrangements of candles with different sizes and shapes, or use three 45s with their edges glued together flat against the table with a single votive candle centered on each. This spacing will give extra room for an inexpensive hurricane style glass filled with silk flowers in the center, too. If you prefer, you can make a triangle of the 45s glued together and stand them upright with a shorter plain glass in the center to hold silk flowers as a way to do without the mess that burning candles create. Four CDs glued together and used flat allows room or a candle in the center, or upright as a square will hide a short plain glass filled with flowers.

Set an album at each table used in place of a centrally located expensive wedding book. A supply of white felt tipped markers, white paint pens, or white sharpie pens allow guests to record their names and write custom sentiments directly on the vinyl. Afterward, they can be framed and used as unique art in the newly wedded couple’s home. The same goes with sheet music and markers in the wedding colors for writing down loving notes for the newlyweds over the written music. If a standard wedding book placement is preferred, construct one covered in sheet music to songs with a special meaning for the couple for added meaning to the special book.

Reception games are all the rage, use it to your advantage. Create a list of his and hers favorite songs and let people guess which song goes to which person. Make a list of single lines from your favorite songs or well-known romantic favorites and have a ‘name that song’ game. Have guests fill in the blanks with song titles on a ‘mad libs’ style print out to describe how your marriage will be five years in the future, how the honeymoon will go, or if the story is not well known, how you met and decided to marry. It will provide fun for the guests, if you let them know to leave the finished ‘mad libs’ beside the sign-in book, they can be mementos for the happy couple.

Party favors for guests are simple when the couple combines their musical interests and talents. Create a mix CD of songs chosen for the wedding and reception or songs with special meaning for the couple. Cover songs licensed and recorded legally, when the couple is musical, playing, or singing the songs themselves, are a mere $.10 per song for each copy given away. CDs and jewel cases are very inexpensive now, as are the printable labels to cover them. This cost may be prohibitive for a large wedding, but for smaller intimate gatherings, it can be a beautiful way to commemorate the day and a lasting remind of the love the couple share for each other and the music.

A musical theme is one possible, and tailored to the couple, memorable way to make the day stand out in the minds of all the attendees. It is a fabulous way to share the couple’s love of music and each other on a day they will always remember. Any genre of music will work if the happy couple loves it and the only limit is the imagination of the planners.

Unique one of a kind weddings are all the rage. Every wedding has music why not make the most of it when the couple loves music almost as much as each other. Here are some ideas for invitations, décor and mementos with a musical theme which are easy to fulfill and do not cost a fortune.

*** Okay, Fair warning was given, all further articles I have written and offered for sale via the Ghostbloggers.net site are being published online tonight. Feel free to use any articles which are posted under the category “Because Ghostbloggers.net owes back payments and refuse to respond” in any way you like. I share them freely here, in the hopes that if they sell in the future, there will be a “copyright infringement notices” for the people who buy them and test them to see if they were previously published. They may then demand their money back from Ghostbloggers.net. The posts here will be dated to show that I posted them first along with this notice of WHY they were posted, namely the fact that Ghostbloggers.net has lied to me, defaulted on the agreement made when I signed up by not paying for articles sold for months now and they continue to ignore all messages I have sent them asking for back pay, explanations, information of any kind for months. Meanwhile they owe me for a previous four articles sold, which they apparently pocketed MY share of the money for as well as their OWN portion.

They have refused to pay me for after repeated requests and attempts, beginning in July of 2014, for them to send me the money owed. Furthermore, they post on https://twitter.com/ghost_bloggers , https://www.facebook.com/ghostbloggers, and https://plus.google.com/+GhostbloggersNet/posts multiple times a day, but refuse to respond to any message sent via those sites, or their http://www.ghostbloggers.net/?page=contact page when it is in reference to the money owed. I do not know about your definition, but in my world, this makes them rude and thieves.

Beware working with this group. Funds owed in 2013, came within a few weeks after request, funds owed by Ghostbloggers.net in 2014 have not come at all.
